Create and Consume. Ya gotta do it all.

I want to write about creation versus consumption.

I have a few fundamental beliefs I've come up with in my life, and I'm sure they're rephrasing other before articulated beliefs, because as someone else said, there are no original ideas.

So one of mine is that a happy life is one where creation outweighs consumption. I truly believe as humans we are meant to create. To a lesser extent, all animals were I guess, and plants even, I mean shit, maybe this ties into some other beliefs I have about pattern and persistence, but let's not digress too much (TOO LATE!)

So what does it mean to create more than one consumes? Well, just like anything, as soon as you start to analyze it, it gets more and more complicated. Analysis after all is a breaking apart and observation of the parts of a thing that is already created. That thing in this case is my wild take.

So if you look at creation, it can be the physical manifestation of a specific thing, or it can be a step in that process. Some things take years or months and people and teams to create, and anything done in the interest of moving that creation can be seen as creative.

Now if we look at consumption, that is just something to make us feel comfortable, eating, reading, watching, playing, dancing. But hell, even some of these can be considered creative, right? I think in the terms of my generalization which side someth9ing falls on is fairly clear, with about 10 percent of activities being able to be arguable for either side.

So that's why I want to do this thing called content creation. Hell, I am doing it at this very moment. But despite the horrible connotation and triggering nature that term, "content creation," has garnered, we all still rely on it and need it for our consumption. So the people out there making content that has a more vapid nature to it, we feel bad consuming it, but they love making it because it makes them money. But you know the content that makes you happy and the stuff that has heart and thought behind it.

I mean hey, if you've made it this far to this entry, I really hope that last sentence applies.

So, as user generated platforms have arisen, the solo broadcasting network has always enamored me. And I've made tries, but the consistency just hasn't been there. But I think I can do it, and I need to give it one more try. And it will be slow and imperfect like anything out there, and it is big in scope and vision, but small in staff and time. The point is, that I have tried so many different methods lately, and it is time to fuse them all into one thing.

And that, is where you get planetfour TV.
