I just paid for this site again - good move?

But why? I used to blog decades ago, and it’s tough to get back in the habit. I do know, however, that navel gazing produces very little, and having skin in the game, be it money, attention, time, or effort, does produce. So here’s a couple lines talking about recommitting. Now where else is the skin going?

Well, I’ve been making music, podcasts, and knitting projects pretty passionately, and I’ve finally gotten like the very edge of a very nail of a very toe dipped in the NFT space. Some of these probably make you smile, some of these probably make you cringe. Different damn strokes for different damn folks.

But the common denominator is work. I tend to think that one’s whole life can be boiled down to a ratio of time creating over time consuming, and one can really have a good life if that ratio is maximized.

Now then, what is actually defined as creating and what is consuming? Like most things, dualistic/binary thinking is problematic, so these things vary per person based on values, but you can’t just go and take it easy on yourself and move the goalposts of creation just to maximize your ratio. You know and only you know which of those time consuming activities (ha, time is ONLY consumed) is leading toward your goals, your passions, your better version of you. Those are all creative. But you can not create from an empty well, so consuming is possible. Food creates muscle, art creates inspiration, relaxation creates bandwidth.

LET’S GO MAXIMIZE.
